Living walls or green walls are self sufficient vertical gardens that are attached to the exterior or interior of a building. They differ from green façades (e.g. ivy walls) in that the plants root in a structural support which is fastened to the wall itself. The plants receive water and nutrients from within the vertical support instead of from the ground.
Our walls are hydroponic, meaning they are DIRT FREE and fully automated watering/ feedings. Best of all, because they are without soil or dirt of any kind, they are BUG FREE!
Plants exchange CO2 for O2, yes. But, the detoxification or cleaning of “bad” or “toxic” air filled with VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) is NOT cleaned by the plants themselves, rather the roots and more importantly, the beneficial microbes living on the roots. So this is where our biggest unique advantage is, we have the only living walls in the world, who’s technology acts as a true biological filter! Inside breathing air and nutrient rich water, BOTH, are forced through and recirculated past the root zones. All the while, feeding plants and detoxifying dirty VOC filled air.
